CHCF Health Care Leadership Program Alumnus Dr. Albert Chan is piloting a new technology that aims to give doctors and nurses more time with patients.
Augmedix, a Google Glass startup that received $23 million in funding, pairs doctors and nurses with remote scribes who take notes during patient visits.
Dr. Chan is the head of digital patient experience at Sutter Health, currently the biggest Augmedix customer. He says doctors save about two hours per day by using the technology.
“We all want our doctors to focus on our needs rather than taking notes on a computer,” Chan said.“What we’ve discovered through our partnership with Augmedix is that beyond helping doctors to more quickly and accurately complete patient charts, the service is actually making patients feel that their doctors are more attentive to their needs.”
