As the population ages and the number of older Americans with serious illnesses grows, a large and diverse workforce will be needed to enable people to live in their homes and communities. The June 2019 issue of Health Affairs examined this emerging challenge with a special issue devoted to understanding how we can recruit, train and deploy the necessary clinical and non-clinical workforce and fully integrate family caregivers into care processes.
