On September 27, the Kaiser Permanente Institute for Health Policy hosted a forum, Strengthening America’s Mental Health Workforce, at Kaiser Permanente’s Center for Total Health in Washington, D.C. The event brought together leaders from across sectors to discuss challenges facing the mental health workforce and elevate effective solutions. Healthforce Center at UCSF Director Sunita Mutha, MD, FACP, delivered the keynote address at the forum where she focused on tangible solutions to behavioral health shortages across the country. Workforce is foundational, and transformation in quality and access will first require a paradigm shift in rethinking the workforce.
