Melissa Lucas is marketing and communications manager at Healthforce Center at UCSF. In this role, she handles the website, email marketing, social media, press and public relations, writing and editing, and brand promotion for Healthforce Center and for signature programs such as the California Improvement Project, Cedars-Sinai Managing to Leading, and the California Health Care Foundation's Health Care Leadership Program.
Lucas served on the advisory board of Techtonica, a nonprofit that partners with tech companies to offer six months of free, full-time tech training with living stipends and laptops to SF Bay Area women and non-binary adults with low incomes, and then places apprentices into jobs with sponsor companies.
She earned her bachelor's degree in community studies at the University of California, Santa Cruz.
Starting in Sept. 2025, this role will be responsible for research and implementation projects for Policy at Healthforce, along with other opportunities for collaboration, publishing, research, and professional development at UCSF.
