Xenia Mendez
Xenia is a research analyst at Healthforce Center at UCSF. Her current projects include evaluating training program initiatives for direct care workers and assessing the impact of COVID-19 among primary care providers. She graduated with a master's of public health from UC Berkeley, with a focus on Maternal, Child and Adolescent Health. During graduate school she was a research assistant for UC Berkeley’s CHAMACOS (Center for the Health Assessment of Mothers and Children of Salinas), a longitudinal birth cohort study. She worked on projects studying environmental, social, and policy exposures among mothers and children living in an agricultural community.
Prior to graduate school, Xenia led Medi-Cal enrollment (and other safety-net programs) at federally qualified health centers. She helped patients and community members gain access to health care services in primary care, reproductive health, mental health, and gender affirming care. She is excited to work on research projects that can inform policies, improve health systems, and improve the health and wellbeing of patients and historically marginalized communities.
