Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioners in Public Mental Health

UCSF School of Nursing researchers received a two-year grant from the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation to assess the utilization of Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioners (PMHNPs) in public mental health settings in California. The UCSF research team, in partnership with the California Institute for Behavioral Health Solutions (CIBHS), is examining the structural, practice, and policy opportunities and barriers that affect psychiatric/mental health nurse practitioners’ ability to most effectively use their skills and expertise in public mental health settings.
