Lasting Lessons from a Community Clinic Initiative

Date:
December 13, 2016

Leticia Lozano, LVN, the Health Center Manager at the Achievable Foundation, completed Cedars-Sinai Community Clinic Initiative: Managing to Leading Program in 2016. This intensive year-long leadership development program, funded by a generous grant from Cedars-Sinai, has helped participants like Lozano guide their organizations through a challenging new health care landscape.

Twenty-seven early-career managers were selected for the training to help strengthen the safety net in Los Angeles. The Achievable Foundation, a federally qualified health center, provides health care to clients with developmental disabilities in the Los Angeles area.

“I learned to work smarter, not harder,” Lozano said. “I learned to actively listen, and ask staff questions to lead them to their own solutions. My leadership journey will continue and I hope I am able to bring my staff along with me on this journey.”

Lozano discusses her leadership journey during her remarks at the program's closing ceremony. Watch here:
