Taylor B. Rogers is a postdoctoral scholar at Healthforce Center at UCSF, where she is part of a new initiative focused on developing workforce policy as well as leading her own research.

Rogers’s journey in public health began in community engagement and health education. Frustrated with focusing on individual behavior change, she pursued higher education to understand and address racism as a structural determinant of health and health care.

Rogers is a trained health services researcher with expertise in the application of Critical Race Theory and Public Health Critical Race Praxis on health services and policy research. Her research interests include addressing structural racism, discrimination, equity, diversity, and inclusion in health care delivery, the health workforce, health services research, and medical school training environment.

She holds a doctorate from the UC Los Angeles Fielding School of Public Health Department of Health Policy and Management, a master’s in public health in health equity, and a bachelor’s of science in community health, both from the University of Maryland, College Park.
