Kateryna Ostrovska, MD
Kateryna Ostrovska is a Fulbright Visiting Research Scholar at Healthforce Center at UCSF and the UCSF Institute for Health Policy Studies for the 2024-2025 academic year. A general medical physician since 2012, she is from Ukraine and plans to study health workforce planning strategies for Ukraine.
Ostrovska led a private clinic from 2017 to 2020 and was responsible for all the medical services and administrative matters, including quality management. Moved to have a larger impact, she began working at a regional and national level in 2020 in the position of Health Governance Specialist with the United Nations Development Programme.
In 2021, she became the Health Workforce Optimization and Policy Workstream Lead in the USAID Health Reform Support Project, where her work included supporting Ukrainian health authorities in reforming continuing professional development, and in facility-based and regionwide health workforce optimization and planning.
