Are you a health leader who wants leadership training in California?

Time is running out to apply for the CHCF Health Care Leadership Program. Applications are due June 30, 2017.

Up to 32 physicians, nurses, dentists, pharmacists and other health care professionals are selected annually for this two-year, part-time fellowship. Led by national experts in health care and leadership development from Healthforce Center at UCSF, the program addresses health care issues from the perspectives of business management and public policy.

For Sang-ick Chang, associate dean for primary care at Stanford School of Medicine, the CHCF program was the single most important professional experience he’s ever had. "The lessons I learned about the importance of vision, political savvy, and self-knowledge are fresh in my mind and help me daily."

Additional alumni of our healthcare fellowship programs have had transformative experiences. Here is what other CHCF fellows said about their experiences with the program:

"This fellowship was truly a life-changing experience. The skills obtained in this program and the exposure to various leaders, have been applicable to all aspects of my career. The relationships established within the cohort was just amazing. There is incredible talent throughout the state as evidence by all who have graduated and the incredible work being done." – Patricia Fajardo, RN, MPH, Director of Nursing, ChapCare

"The fellowship has been a key factor in my growth as a health leader. It provided the opportunity to learn important skills, meet amazing people and explore new possibilities in health care delivery. As an alumni, the fellowship continues to foster this confirmed growth and relationships with other health leaders." – Paul Giboney, MD, Director, Specialty Care, Los Angeles County Department of Health Services

"The program helped me gain greater insight into the health care needs of the rural population in California. It has enhanced my understanding of the health care safety net and the interconnections of these networks and the not-for-profit and for-profit organizations." – Calvin Wheeler, MD, Physician-in-Chief, The Permanente Medical Group

"I've been able to learn from and network with individuals across the continuum - medical groups, health plans, and both the public and private sector. Only by working together will we have the opportunity to provide optimal care and effect change in our delivery system." – Betty Shephard, BSN, MBA, RN, Lead Vice President, Care Management, HealthCare Partners
