The California Improvement Network (CIN) is a learning and action network that aims to advance the Quadruple Aim by identifying and spreading better ideas for care delivery. The network is fueled by the energy and innovations of its partner and member organizations. CIN is a project of the California Health Care Foundation and managed by Healthforce Center at UCSF.

The challenges facing health care are too big for individuals or individual organizations to handle alone. Solving these problems requires collaboration among payors, plans, foundations, educational institutions, and health care systems in both the safety net and commercial sectors. It requires health care leaders to see themselves as change agents working together toward similar goals.

As we close up the year, it’s a great opportunity to look back on what we’ve accomplished. The California Improvement Network (CIN), a community that aims to spread better ideas for care delivery, had a busy year establishing connections, learning about quality improvement ideas and innovations, and taking actions to improve care. 

The California Improvement Network (CIN), which is a project of the California Health Care Foundation and administered by Healthforce Center at UCSF, is a community of health care professionals dedicated to driving improvements in patient and provider experience and population health, while lowering the cost of care. As part of its efforts to spread better ideas for care delivery, the network finds, documents and shares innovative quality improvement projects throughout the state.

Seventeen health care organizations have been selected as partners for the California Health Care Foundation (CHCF)’s California Improvement Network (CIN). Collectively, these organizations serve or support more than 20.6 million patients across the state – more than half the population of California.

The California Health Care Foundation (CHCF) has selected Healthforce Center at UCSF to serve as the program office for the California Improvement Network (CIN). Established in 2005, CIN is a project of CHCF and is committed to spreading better ideas for care delivery. Its unique community of health leaders from commercial and safety net provider organizations, health plans and quality improvement instructional hubs work to improve the patient experience and the health of populations, while lowering the cost of care.
