Second Cohort of Cedars-Sinai's Community Clinic Initiative Managing to Leading Kicks Off

Thirty-one mid-level clinicians, administrators, and other non-clinical staff who work in health clinics in Los Angeles have been selected to participate in Cedars-Sinai’s Community Clinic Initiative Managing to Leading. Administered by Healthforce Center at UCSF, this program equips leaders with the knowledge, skills and confidence to effectively lead change and improve health care in their communities.

Lasting Lessons from a Community Clinic Initiative

Leticia Lozano, LVN, the Health Center Manager at the Achievable Foundation, completed Cedars-Sinai Community Clinic Initiative: Managing to Leading Program in 2016. This intensive year-long leadership development program, funded by a generous grant from Cedars-Sinai, has helped participants like Lozano guide their organizations through a challenging new health care landscape.

Yearlong Community Clinic Initiative, "Managing to Leading," Kicks Off at Cedars-Sinai

Cedars-Sinai Medical Center is sponsoring an intensive leadership development program for local community clinic managers, hoping to prepare a pipeline of leaders well-equipped to guide their organizations through a challenging new healthcare landscape. The 29 participants in the "Managing to Leading" program will create and execute high-value organizational projects designed to improve their clinics' effectiveness in improving the health of the community. Cedars-Sinai selected Healthforce Center at UCSF to conduct the program's kickoff, which started Feb. 17.
